In our fast-paced professional world, sacrificing our well-being for work has never been easier. Like the healthcare professionals we support as CME/CPD professionals, we also face high-stress levels, demanding workloads, and burnout potential. These factors hinder our capacity to engage in meaningful learning experiences and can diminish joy. Joy isn’t just a fleeting feeling or an emotional luxury. It has tangible benefits, such as improved cognitive flexibility, enhanced creativity, and social connection.1-2
This session teaches reflective practices to promote personal and professional well-being and find joy in learning. Reflection is vital in professional CME/CPD practice and is core to the experiential learning cycle. Reflection allows adult learners to make sense of their current experiences and integrate new knowledge into their existing experiential and knowledge frameworks. By incorporating reflective practices and self-awareness techniques into the learning process, we can cultivate a greater sense of well-being, enthusiasm, and joy in learning.
Learning Objectives:
Recognize the importance of well-being and joy in the learning process.
Incorporate body-based (ground-up) techniques into daily routines to reduce stress and boost joy.
