I have over ten years of experience managing academic peer reviewed publications, and I have worked in all aspects of the journal publication process, from building a well-rounded Editorial Board to final editing of page proofs. For the last thirteen years I have worked for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (AAPM&R). I joined the AAPM&R to work on the journal, PM&R, and PM&R Knowledge NOW, which serves as a “wiki” page for PM&R clinicians. PM&R NOW provides clinicians with brief disease definitions, assessment tools, and management and treatment strategies in a concise, standard format. I served on the Annual Assembly/Corporate Support teams, and I spent nearly 5 years helping launch and run AAPM&R’s Clinical Data Registry. In response to the pandemic, we launched a “COVID Task Force” to help meet member needs during the early stages of the pandemic and COVID lockdowns. That work transitioned over to the “Long COVID Collaborative”, where we lead monthly meetings and wrote our Assessment and Treatment Guidance Statements. I currently work on AAPM&R’s Education Team, running our Self-Assessment Exam for Residents and overseeing the peer review process for abstracts submitted to our Annual Assembly.
